PDA Chair Dance with the Linda Bair Dance Company

Linda Bair and I have created another Public Dance Act opportunity in collaboration with the Linda Bair Dance Company. This is Not a flashmob, but something a little different--smaller, indoors, more intimate and more challenging, but certainly a new, fun movement experience!! To participate, you have to come to 3 rehearsals (1 hr long) and the performance itself-details below.
Here are the details: The Linda Bair Dance Company is presenting "What Do You See?", a tour of dance and discovery through… Show more the John Natsoulas Gallery on June 16th at 7 pm. Audiences will explore the gallery at their leisure to discover dance and performance intermingling with the visual art through out the gallery space. As the art of dance shines light on the movement in visual art and the visual art highlights the color of dance, we will all find new meaning and fresh interpretations. We invite you to learn a short, fun "chair dance" and perform it together with members of the Linda Bair Dance Company in the main gallery space. This part of the performance will be in the spirit of the flashmob because you dancers will be dressed in your normal clothes and will blend in with audience members. As the audience comes into the main gallery space for the "intermission" of sorts, we will surprise them with this community dance. We are looking for 25-40 of you brave and beautiful dancers to share in this experience. Who is up for the challenge and the fun?! Because this dance is a little longer than Dance Dance Davis and the movement in this dance is a little more complex (more for the brain than the body), there is a slightly bigger time commitment. In order to participate, you must be available for 2 rehearsals (1 hr each), 1 final rehearsal and the performance (4 hours total). 1. Choose 1 Learn The Dance Rehearsal: Davis Art Center: Wednesday May 30th 8:30 PM Or Sunday June 3rd, 11 Am 2. Choose 1 Practice and Prepare Rehearsal Davis Art Center: Wednesday June 6th 8:30 PM Or Sunday June 10th at 1 PM. 3. And you are required to come to the final rehearsal where we will hammer out all of the details.
DAVIS Art Center: June 14th at 7 pm 4. Performance at the John Natsoulas Gallery! Saturday June 16th at 7 pm (Chair Dance around 7:45pm).
